A<\/span> DEMARCHE ECO- RESPONSABLE<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>
  • We prefer noble materials such as cotton, silk or linen and favour the use of organic fabrics<\/strong>\u00a0(e.g. organic cotton, GOTS certified) or\u00a0recycled materials via our \"Organic Range\". <\/strong><\/span><\/span>We work with West African companies involved in the design and production of eco-responsible fabrics (e.g. CABES - Commerce, Artisanat pour le Bien-\u00catre social).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
  • Tous nos v\u00eatements sont faits\u00a0main <\/strong>in our Ivorian workshop. Thus, all our articles are unique <\/strong>and participate inlocal economy.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>
  • Our traditional fabrics\u00a0<\/strong> are selected directly from West African weavers\u00a0<\/strong>(Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, and soon Senegal, Guinea and Mali in particular) and contribute to supportlocal crafts.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>
  • Our WAX fabrics<\/strong>\u00a0are made in <\/span>Ivory Coast,<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>
  • We reuse our scraps to make certain accessories in order to reduce waste.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>

    AFRICAN FABRIC <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>

    In Africa, fabric is a real channel of expression. It reflects the personality of the wearer, his or her history and emotions... There are different shapes, made using various techniques and materials... There is something for every taste and personality... <\/span><\/p>

    TRADITIONAL FABRIC AND <\/strong><\/span>CRAFTSMANSHIP<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

    Our traditional fabrics are produced by West African weavers<\/strong>, the majority of whom are Ivorians. Their manufacture is based on traditional methods,<\/strong>this gives them a lasting quality. <\/span><\/p>

    Some examples of traditional fabrics:<\/span><\/p>

    • Baoul\u00e9 fabric: Central and South-Eastern C\u00f4te d'Ivoire<\/span><\/li>
    • Kamandj\u00ea, Tapa: Western C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire<\/span><\/li>
    • Kita or Kente: Ghana and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire<\/span>\u00a0in particular<\/span><\/li>
    • Faso Dan Fani: Burkina Faso<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

      I AM RACHEL, TANHNI'S FOUNDER<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>

      My name is Rachel CLERC<\/strong>, I am Franco-Ivorian, born in Abidjan in 1985. <\/span><\/p>

      I grew up in a variety of cultural environments and lived in many countries (Ivory Coast, Guinea, Switzerland, Denmark, Egypt, France), which makes me passionate about diversity and mixing cultures.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

      I was seduced by the richness of the crafts of my native country, Ivory Coast,<\/strong>I want to put the spotlight back on the African fabric<\/strong> through a collection of v\u00eatements actuels et universels.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

      As for the name TANHNI simply means \"African fabric\" in the Baoul\u00e9 language, <\/strong>my Ivorian ethnic group.
